Colt Molloy

Colt Molloy is the owner and operator of Colt .45 Baseball. He is married to Jill Molloy, who is mother to their sons, Finn & Cru. Colt has his Bachelors of Science and his Masters of Education in Sports and Exercise Science.

Britt Cornwell

Britt is the owner of C5 Insurance & Associates in Amarillo TX. His wife Jennifer is the Associate Principal at Randall High School and they have 3 children, 10 year old Jacelyn, and 7 year old twins Cacy & Trason. Britt came to Amarillo in 1998 and up until 2011 gave private lessons and coached several select teams. Below is a small Bio on Britt's Background in the game of baseball.
  • USA Today top 100 High School Baseball Players. Britt was also drafted by the Chicago Cubs & Cincinnati Reds
  • Played collegiate baseball at Cal State Northridge and West Texas A&M University
  • Learned under Tom House (Nolan Ryan's pitching coach) as well as Oscar Acosta, who was the pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers. Spent 2 years with Frank Mutz, the owner of Kern County Baseball School in Bakersfield California.
  • Britt gave lessons at Double J Baseball from 1998 until 2005, then on his own until 2011. In that time he had several students that played college baseball as well as a few still playing pro ball.
  • Britt's Knowledge of the game and Professional Instruction has earned his a Reputation with college coaches from around the country looking for quality Players to add to their program

Yancy Molloy

Yancy Molloy is a West Texas A&M Graduate with his degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences. He played baseball his whole life starting at the age of four and continued to play in youth baseball up to high school and on into the collegiate level. Yancy played all four years of Varsity High school baseball earning many awards including Offensive MVP, Panhandle Super Team, and All-District.

After High school Yancy continued his baseball career at Wayland Baptist University before transferring to West Texas A&M University to continue his degree. Off the playing field Yancy was also the head Coach of Youth baseball for 3 years.

Brad Weick

Brad is currently a left handed pitcher in the San Diego Padres organization. Brad is another successful Amarillo area athlete that will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Colt 45. The coaching techniques, styles and philosophies he has gained at the high school, college, and professional levels are invaluable for our students. 
  • Graduated from San Jacinto Christian Academy in Amarillo, TX where he was a standout hitter/pitcher and awarded to the Amarillo Super Team 2009, 2010
  • Originally signed to play for the University of New Mexico but was sidelined with a summer ball arm injury
  • A 29th round draft selection of Philadelphia Phillies June 2012
  • Attended Frank Phillips College 2012 where he was a NJCAA All Star
  • Signed by the New York Mets as a 7th round draft selection June 2014 out of Oklahoma City University where he averaged 15.24 strikeouts per 9 innings
  • Traded to the San Diego Padres June 2015
So far in pro ball he has earned a mid season California league all-star spot in 2016. The past season Brad spent time in double A and Triple A with the Padre affiliates where he lead the Texas league in strikeouts per 9 innings, at 15.

Lacey Taylor

Lacey was a four-year standout at City-View high school where she caught and played shortstop for the Mustangs. She was a four time All-State selection, being named the District MVP her senior year.

Taylor stepped up as a leader for the WTAMU lady Buffs as a sophomore in 2014 and helped her team win their first ever National Championship. She was named a member of the All-Lone Star conference team. Lacey is now the Graduate assistant for the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Softball team

Thomas Mcllraith

Thomas is currently a right handed pitcher in the New York Mets. He attended Tascosa Hgh School here in Amarillo where he was a two-sport athlete….was quarterback, pitcher & 3rd baseman for the Rebels.

In 2012 & 2013 he attended Midland College . In his two years there, he worked as both a starter & a reliever. While in Midland, he helped the Chaparrals earn back-to-back Juco World Series appearances, the first in Midland College history…still holds the school record for most career strikeouts, most wins, & most game appearances.

In 2014, he played for the University of Oklahoma. At OU, he made 13 appearances as a reliever and then was a 20th round draft pick for the New York Mets.

Thomas played his rookie season in Kingsport, TN, where as a starter, he went 7-1 & had an 1.71 ERA for the Kingsport Mets in the Appalachian League. In single A the following year, he earned the first win in Columbia Fireflies history, which is also recorded as a combined no-hitter.

Mcllraith just finished the current season at the Advanced A level with the St. Lucie Mets as a reliever. He is living in Amarillo during the offseason & preparing for Spring 

Chris Matthews

Chris is a Canyon native where he attended Canyon High School. Chris is a professional catcher who recently served as the bench coach for the Sonoma Stompers where they won the 2016 Pacific Association Championship.

In the winter of 2015 he played in Perth Australia, for the second time, before arriving in Sonoma, where he won a Gold Glove for his defensive performance with a .995 fielding percentage for the season. In 2015, he spent his summer up in Chicago playing for the Schaumburg Boomers and the Joliet Slammers serving as the backup catcher for both teams.

In 2014 he finished up the season with a .325 average and an obp of .419 in Arizona after a short stint with the Amarillo Gold Sox. In the winter of 2013 he had the opportunity of playing in Canberra, Australia where he batted .340 with a .463 obp.

In his first season of professional baseball in 2013, he was with the Grand Prairie Air Hogs as the backup catcher where they won the American Association Southern Division Championship.

​Chris' knowledge of baseball instruction comes from professionals before him as well as international instruction and mentors from Japan and Latin America. Chris spent his first year of college at New Mexico Junior College and is an alumni from Hardin-Simmons University where he was the starting catcher for 3 years. He earned a BBA in Finance from Hardin-Simmons University in 2013.

Jeremi Moreno

Played 2 seasons as a scholarship athlete (2011-2013) for Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas when the Westerners made their first ever Regional tournament appearance (Moreno 22IP/24Ks) in school history under head coach Cameron Dodd.
  • Graduate of Canyon Randall HS in Amarillo, TX
  • Second-Team (5A-4A) All-State Texas selection under head coach C. Hamilton
  • The left hander posting a record of 12-2 and had a 2.26 ERA with 94 strikeouts in 68 innings his senior year. His junior year he registered a 9-2 record with a 1.70 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 74 innings.

  • 2-time 1st Team All District Pitcher Selection
  • *also played for 2009 premiere league team in Dallas, TX under most well known name Ben Grieve

  • Jeremi finished his playing career at the University Of The Incarnate Word in 2014 under head coach Danny Heep in the Southland Conf.

Sydney Greeson

Sydney is from Amarillo where she was a starting pitcher/utility and All-District selection all for 4 years at Amarillo High School. Her senior year she received 1st Team Texas Sportswriters All-State, TGCA All-State, TGCA Legacy All-Star, District 3-5A Co-Offensive Player of the Year, Amarillo Globe News Super Team, and was named Happy State Bank Athlete of the Week twice. Sydney holds two Texas state records for most RBI in a season(92), and most RBI in a game(13).

As a senior, Sydney pitched 181 innings with 161 strikeouts and defensively played every position on the field. She had 66 hits, 15 doubles, 3 triples, 19 home runs, and 92 RBI’s with a BA .500, and Slug 1.091. Sydney is currently playing at WT as a pitcher/infielder. She had a BA of .874 for her freshman Fall games with 3 doubles and a home run, along with several singles. 

Candace Abrams

Candace Abrams enters her first season at the helm of the Bulldogs following five years at West Texas A&M University Prior to arriving at Clarendon, Abrams was a part of a very successful Lady Buff softball program which included: two Lone Star Conference Championships as well as a South Central Regional Title and trip to the DII College World Series. Coaching 13 All-Americans, 21 All-Region, 33 All-Conference; as well as 2 Players of the year. Abrams enters the 2019-2020 season with an overall career record of 275-93-1 (.745). In 2019 Abrams led WT to a third place finish in the LSC. While leading the country in Home runs per game, On base percentage and slugging percentage. WT finished 3rd in scoring. WT also set an NCAA record for most Home runs hit in a game with 10. In 2018 WT finished second in the LSC and led the country in Home runs per game and slugging percentage, while finishing fourth in batting average and triples per game.

The Tucson native registered her 100th career victory on May 9, 2015 in a 7-6 extra inning victory on Angelo State during the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament in Canyon. Her 200th career win came on May 5, 2017 as the Lady Buffs topped Cameron (7-6) during the Semifinal Round of the LSC Championship in San Angelo.

In 2015 as Abrams helped lead the Lady Buffs to the program’s second straight and third overall Lone Star Conference Championship as they finished the season 45-11 with a 22-6 mark in LSC play. WT made national news during the 2015 season, remaining the top team in the National Fast pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top-25 Poll for a record 56-straight weeks (2/26/14 - 3/25/15). WT led the nation in four offensive statistical categories during the 2015 season while also hitting 102 home runs to become the first team in Division II history to reach the century mark in back-to-back years.

Heath Herrington

Heath Herrington graduated from Amarillo High School in 2010. He lettered in football and baseball, playing his high school baseball under Coach Gary Hix. Heath began his college baseball career at Cisco College, playing two years under Coach David White and advancing to Cisco College’s first ever Junior College World Series. Heath played the following 3 years at Texas Tech University, under the coaching of Two-Time National Coach of the Year, Tim Tadlock. He was a part of the first 2 College World Series appearances in Texas Tech’s history, one as a player and one as a graduate assistant coach.

His playing career in college was minimized at times because of injuries, so he has a passion to help young players take care of their arms and bodies, as well as learn to deal with adversity. Heath played multiple spots in the field and pitched throughout his time in baseball, and enjoys working with players on all facets of the game. He currently lives in Amarillo and has a wife, Chelsea, and a son, William.

Joe Corbett

Joe Corbett was a 2 year player at West Texas A&M university where he was a 2 time All-Conference and All-Region pitcher. His senior year(2019) he was a unanimous 1st Team All-American and awarded D2 National Pitcher of the year. 

Joe was drafted in the 10th round by the Texas Rangers becoming the highest drafted player in WT history. 

Joe holds multiple records with West Texas A&M baseball including: most wins in a career(23) most single season wins(12) and career strikeouts(236)

Joe is currently a pitcher for the Texas Rangers.
